Why aren't the churches teaching on the Partial Rapture view point, or on the warnings of the Seven Letters to the Seven Churches in the Book of Revelation? - Michael Henry, Citrus Heights, CA
Great question Michael, but I can only speculate. I would encourage you (and others) to ask your own pastor(s) these questions and get your answers directly from them. Regarding your first question as to why the Partial Rapture view point is not being taught, when I started putting this information together, in 2004, the Partial Rapture view point was not out there anywhere that I could find. Now there are a few others who are teaching on the Partial Rapture. And as to why church leaders are not teaching on the warnings of the Seven Letters to the Seven Churches of the Book of Revelation, again, I can only speculate. Many years ago I remember reading the results of a Barna poll where "pastors" were asked a multitude of questions. I don't remember the specifics, but one very surprising ludicrous result was that about 50% of the pastors polled did not even believe in the existence of Satan. To me, that was a mind blower. I would think that if the poll were taken today the ludicrous result would be substantially higher. Obviously, these, and many other churches as well, will not teach on the warnings to the Seven Churches because they would be guilty of most of the warnings. For instance, in the letter to church in Ephesus, Jesus says, "You hate the practices of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate" (Rev 2:6) and also to the church of Pergamum, Jesus says, "Likewise you also have those who hold to the teaching of the Nicolaitans. Repent therefore! Otherwise I will soon come to youand will fight against them with the sword of my mouth." (Rev 2:15-16) Basically, Nicolaitans can be broken down as: Nico = to control or rule over; and laitans = laity, which comes together as: Those who control or rule over the laity, or in todays terms: Clergy/Laity. So, regarding this one single warning in two of the letters, the next question becomes, How many churches does Clergy/Laity apply to in America (or the world) today, and how many of those churches would be willing to teach the truth regarding this single warning and then make the required changes? I would propose not many, if any! Add to this all the other warnings, and whether or not they believe in Satan...
I hope this helps, Michael, but again, this is just my personal opinion. After all, I suspect that most of these churches above in America today probably have greater ear tickling "business" decisions to make.
